Line-up Responses

When SurveyCake is experiencing heavy traffic, the system will automatically activate line-up protection for processing data to prevent server disconnection due to a sudden traffic spike. Responses will temporarily go into “Line-up responses” and await to go into the database in sequence.

In “Data Report,” you can click on the “Line-up responses” button which is on the upper left side:

Data Report page with the Line-up Responses button highlighted in the upper left corner

After going into “Line-up responses”, you can see the data lining up! (Usually, no data can be found there.)

FAQs

-When will the line-up responses enter “Data Report”?

The waiting time depends on service usage at the moment. In general, the repsonses will go into “Data Report” within 1-2 hours.

-Can I export the answers in “Line-up responses”?

The function of exporting data can only be used after the answers in “Line-up responses” go into “Data Report” Therefore, it is not possible to export the answers in “Line-up responses” directly. .

-Will the submission time of responses be recorded accurately?

Don’t worry about the inaccuracy of time logs in the database when experiencing heavy traffic. SurveyCake will save the submission timestamp right away after respondents click on the “Submit” button. For example, a respondent submits a survey at 7:11 AM 20th July 2020 when line-up protection is activated. Even if the responses are finished processing and saved in the Data Report half an hour later, the timestamp will still record as the submission time, 7:11 AM 20th July 2020.

-Still can’t find any responses either in the data report or line-up responses? ?

In addition to the situation described above, the following reasons may also make you unable to find any responses : r:

  • The respondents don’t submit the survey successfully (Please make sure your respondent click “Submit” button and see the thank you page)
  • You may have logged into a different account from the one you originally used to create the survey
  • You've used the “Filter” or “Date Filter” function in “Data report”, so the answers might be filtered
  • You have set “Isolate by Response Time” or “Isolate Duplicates” to enhance the quality of responses, so the unqualified responses will automatically be placed into the “Quarantine
